"If you like the theatre, you might want to visit the beautiful Frascati Theatre in the Nes, near Dam Square. Some of the plays presented are experimental. The Amsterdam School of the Arts (Amsterdam Hogeschool voor de Kunsten) also present their plays here."

“Every Friday between 12.30 and 13.00 hrs the Rijksmuseum offers lunch lectures for free. These lectures are given by Rijksmuseum specialists about a current topic. You can register, or just turn up on the day. Also on Friday, between 14.00 and 14.30 hrs, the museum organises a free tour with a curator, during which you learn everything about one particular painting.”

“You could do your weekend shopping at the biological farmers’ market near Noorderkerk. It takes place every Saturday between 09.00 and 16.00 hrs and is a firm favourite with local residents.”
